Monday is the quiet part of the motorsport week: no green flags are scheduled in any major series today, but the weekend left real consequences behind and Friday’s F1 practice in Austin is four days away. Here is what is confirmed, what is next, and the one number to watch.

Confirmed overnight and weekend news
- WEC, 6 Hours of Barcelona (Sunday): Toyota took a one-two with the No. 8 ahead of the No. 7, and Ferrari AF Corse’s No. 50 was third, per the series’ own report on fiawec.com. The result clinched Toyota’s eighth Hypercar manufacturers’ title. In LMGT3, Manthey’s No. 92 Porsche won and kept its bid for a third straight title alive; TF Sport still has to close the job at Monza on Nov. 8. Backstory: WEC never planned to race in Barcelona, and Qatar lost its race but kept its name on the grid.
- NASCAR Cup, Freeway Insurance 500 at Phoenix (Sunday): Tyler Reddick won in the No. 45. Two races remain before the Nov. 8 finale at Homestead-Miami, starting with Talladega this Sunday. For the points picture going in, see our Oct. 14 briefing and the Daniel Suárez 2027 re-signing at Spire.
- Formula 1, driver market: Haas has confirmed Rafael Camara for 2027 to take the seat Esteban Ocon is leaving, alongside Ollie Bearman. Camara, 21, is the reigning F3 champion and leads the F2 standings by seven points over Nikola Tsolov with two rounds left, per Formula1.com. Racing Bulls is now the only team without a confirmed 2027 line-up.

The one storyline: Antonelli’s Austin math
Kimi Antonelli leads the standings on 340 points to George Russell’s 238. Formula1.com’s race-week preview lays out how he could clinch in Austin: he must win, Russell must finish ninth or lower, and Lewis Hamilton, third, can finish no better than fifth. That is a long shot, which is the point: the title most likely goes to a later race, but a clinch would make him the youngest champion ever. We broke down why that age record is so hard to beat.
Why it matters
Toyota’s clinch is a reminder that WEC manufacturers’ titles run on cumulative points, so they can be settled before the driver and team fights. And Haas moving early on Camara shows how much the F1 driver market now runs through junior-series leaders before their seasons end.
