NASCAR Cup Series – New Hampshire
Ryan Blaney won Sunday’s Dollar Tree 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, his third victory of the 2026 season, leading a big chunk of the race in the No. 12 Team Penske Ford. Bubba Wallace crossed the line second, with Josh Berry, Christopher Bell, and Kyle Larson rounding out the top five; Larson had claimed Stage 1 honors earlier in the day. Denny Hamlin’s steady finish locked him in as the No. 1 seed heading into the Cup Series playoffs. The Craftsman Truck Series ran its own companion race at the track on Saturday.
IndyCar – Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
The NTT IndyCar Series made history with the inaugural Freedom 250, the series’ first-ever race in Washington, D.C., contested on a new street circuit that wound past the National Mall over the August 22-23 weekend. Kyle Kirkwood took the win ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Will Power, with Marcus Ericsson completing the top four. The debut event drew heavy crowds and mainstream attention as IndyCar’s first visit to the capital.
IROC’s Comeback – Jeff Gordon Sweeps D.C.
Ahead of the IndyCar main event, the long-dormant International Race of Champions made its own comeback on the same D.C. street circuit. Jeff Gordon swept both 10-lap support races, charging forward from mid-pack starts each time to claim the sweep and the 2026 IROC title outright.
Formula 1 – Dutch Grand Prix
Formula 1 visited Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix, where Lando Norris won a chaotic afternoon after home favorite Max Verstappen crashed out of the race. Kimi Antonelli and George Russell completed the podium for Mercedes, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc rounded out the top five for Ferrari.
IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge – VIR
In sports car racing, the Michelin Pilot Challenge visited Virginia International Raceway, where Ford’s Mustangs went 1-2 in the GS class. In TCR, the No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing Cupra Leon VZ TCR, shared by Tyler Gonzalez and Steven Clemons, led a commanding run to the class win.
